Trust and Hope.O fair, sweet showers! Trust and Hope, With what hallow'd joy your petals ope To enchance the sunlight of the heart: Of which you are, divinely so, a part. Choice flowers; with rainbow colored hues, Through prayer, moistened with sacred dew. A balm distilled, elixir of life! In golden center raised when sorrow is rife. That Trust and Hope which have no counterpart Except as mustered in the human heart, Each its living growth; blessed by the smile From the dear Father's face all the while. What were Trust and Hope without a stay; His hand has kindly lain them in our way, In Him their source, power to grow, Let our hearts seek that living source to know. __Susan C. Keefe. |
