Poetry of Kansas

Old Warrior
War found him fearless, strong,
      And left him broken;
Peace will uphold his step
      Till God hath spoken.
Young Warrior
Columbia weeps
      Over her losses.
Blow, requiem winds,
      Past the white crosses.
Salvation Army
They give and give again,
      To serve all human need;
The world their battle ground,
      Humanity, their creed.
